On November 24th, the inaugural Camping Life Expo opened in Foshan City, marking the city's embrace of the "outdoor living" concept by hosting the largest and most high-profile outdoor lifestyle experience in the Greater Bay Area.

The event showcased a diverse range of domestic and international camping brands, products, and activities, integrating Lingnan's creative culture, GBA music, art markets, and unique dining, redefining how people perceive"camping life." The festivities will continue until November 26th.

The expo curated a Lingnan-style trunk market, featuring popular dining options such as baked goods, light meals, coffee, and tea. Various handicrafts such as flower lanterns, postal cultural and creative items, and folk handicrafts were available in the market. Nature education workshops, including plant imprinting, showcased the aesthetic side of outdoor living.

The expo also welcomed participation from organizations based in the GBA, including RV clubs, camping clubs, and outdoor clubs. It also invited outdoor equipment brands, tourism destinations, cultural tourism enterprises, and outdoor education institutions, enhancing the exhibition's trade and consumer attributes, and attracting a diverse audience of professionals.

A major highlight of the event was the Outdoor Experience Zone, tailored for various age groups, offering a plethora of outdoor activities including frisbee, pickleball, paddleboarding, electric biking, surf skating, and dozens of sports over three days. Additionally, three evenings featured live music concerts.

Foshan's rich cultural heritage, including non-material cultural heritage like Gaoming flower lanterns, was displayed in the Lingnan market area. Gaoming flower lantern inheritor Huang Yanqiong opened an on-site workshop, generously sharing the art of crafting simple flower lanterns for public benefit.

With the outdoor industry flourishing in Foshan, the city has actively developed outdoor routes, campsites, and continually updated consumption maps. Currently boasting 19 custom hiking (cycling) routes and 15 outdoor sports consumption areas, Foshan has recommended numerous camping sites for tourism. Embracing the "outdoor+" philosophy, Foshan is committed to exploring and promoting outdoor culture, establishing itself as the "City of Outdoor Sports in the Greater Bay Area."
