"Foshan is a city full of vitality". The new Consul General of Germany, Mr. Eberhard Schuppius visited Foshan yesterday to know more about the economic and social development of Foshan, and strengthen the bilateral friendly cooperation relation. The mayor of Foshan, Mr. Chen Yunxian met with him.

This was the first time to visit Foshan since Mr. Schuppius took office. Mayor Chen firstly introduces about Foshan’s economic developing momentum, the great investing environment, and the advantage of integrative Guangzhou-Foshan. He said: there are many Germanic enterprises have invested in Foshan and generally have obtained a good developing; he hopes more Germanic enterprises come and invest in Foshan, also hopes that Mr. Schuppius has have more knowledge about Foshan after this visiting, and the bilateral various cooperation and interflow could be accelerated. 

 Mr. Schuppius said he was very glad to visit Foshan. He commended that Foshan is a very beautiful city, and it has very active economy, he hopes he can make more effort to accelerate the bilateral cooperation of trade, culture, education and others.

In the meeting, Mr. Schuppius and Mayor Chen had a conversation about “The Environment Protection Forum of China-German” which will be hold in Foshan in 18th of June.

After the meeting, Mr. Schuppius and others went to visit OSRAM China lighting Ltd. Up to now, German has set up 12 enterprises in Foshan, the total investment in US $1.3 billion, and the contractual foreign capital has up to US $89.9685 million.
